Welcome to the "Stop The Horn" website.  Here, you can find information about various efforts in the City of Atlanta to implement "Quiet Zones" in residential neighborhoods.
Thanks to Federal legislation passed in 2005, a residential neighborhood can be declared a "Quiet Zone," which means that the trains passing through would be forbidden from blowing their horns.

"Stop The Horn" represents a group of concerned citizens who have been working to enact local "Quiet Zones" in two different areas of metro Atlanta:  a "Quiet Zone" at the Lenox Road crossing in the city of Atlanta, as well as a "Quiet Corridor" that covers several crossings along the intown portion of the Seaboard line in DeKalb county.

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."
